Safety Officer (NCSO)
Job Description
The Safety Officer is responsible for managing all company safety programs, processes and initiatives. Duties include administrative work, supervisory work and hands on assistance.
Typical Duties
- Safety is priority one for IVIS and its employees – all employees must comply with all government and corporate safety procedures; must attend all safety meetings
- Documents and maintains all safety incidents and ensures appropriate paperwork is completed
- Maintain records of all employee safety certifications Ensure employees are kept up-to-date with their certificates and coordinate re-certifications when necessary
- Complete appropriate quality control, assigned paperwork and safety checks
- Ensure safety certifications are maintained and up to date (i.e. COR & IS Networld)
- Ensure compliance with OH&S standard operating procedures
- Performs annual safety audit
- Ensure appropriate safety coverage as company operates
- Performs routine clerical work as required
- Communicate equipment deficiencies and/or needs that will make role more efficient and/or effective
- Abide by and act in accordance with all company policies, operating and training procedures as outlined in the employee manual
- MSDS and OH & S Forms

Training and Experience
Professional designation from Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals
Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
5 years plus field experience
NCSO designation
